What to Expect

Now that you have your dental veneers, it's important to know how to care for them properly. Here's how to keep your veneers looking their best throughout their lifespan.

Everyday life with Veneers

Smile with Confidence

Your veneers are designed to be durable and natural-looking. Feel free to flash that smile without hesitation. Your new teeth are built to withstand daily activities, so go ahead and show them off!

Adopt Good Oral Hygiene

Even though veneers are resistant to stains, maintaining excellent oral hygiene is key. Brush your teeth twice a day with a non-abrasive toothpaste and floss daily to keep your gums healthy and your smile sparkling.

Mind your Diet

While veneers are strong, they're not invincible. Avoid biting down on hard objects like ice or pens and steer clear of excessively sticky foods that could damage the veneers or your natural teeth. Opt for a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and lean protein.

Regular Check-Ups

Schedule regular dental check-ups to ensure your veneers and natural teeth are in great shape. Your dentist will monitor the condition of your veneers and make any necessary adjustments to keep your smile looking fabulous.

Protect your Investment

If you play contact sports or grind your teeth at night, consider wearing a mouthguard. This simple step can help protect your veneers from potential damage and ensure they stay looking pristine.

Start Now

With dental veneers, you're not just enhancing your smile; you're also boosting your confidence and changing the way you interact with the world. Enjoy the newfound attention and compliments, knowing that your veneers are designed to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth and withstand the rigors of daily life.

So go ahead, embrace the spotlight, and take care of your veneers with a few simple practices. Your smile is your best accessory-make sure it's always shining brightly!

Embrace Your New Smile

After a dental appointment, it's common to experience some general soreness in your mouth. This discomfort typically lasts a few days and will gradually fade. To manage the soreness, try sticking to a soft diet that won't put extra pressure on your teeth and gums. Over-the-counter pain relievers like Tylenol can also help alleviate the discomfort during this initial period.

For relief from irritated gums or sore spots, rinse your mouth with warm salt water. Simply mix one teaspoon of salt in eight ounces of warm water and rinse vigorously to help soothe the area. If the soreness is more severe, Acetaminophen (Tylenol) can provide relief. Avoid using Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), or Naproxen Sodium (Naprosyn, Anaprox) frequently, as they may not be as effective for this type of pain and could potentially interfere with healing.

Additionally, if your lips, cheeks, or tongue feel irritated as they adjust to any new dental work, using a protective barrier like orthodontic wax can help reduce irritation and provide comfort.
